Your "flaws" are truly gifts!

I received this story in an email from a friend last week and knew right away I wanted to post it to this blog. Apparently it has been floating around for quite awhile, but this was the first time I have ever received it. Enjoy!

A woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”

The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

Remember: You are beautiful and perfect!

Which aspects of yourself are you revealing?

An Elder told his grandchild: "I have two wolves fighting inside of me. One wolf is anger, suspicion and fear. The other is a wolf of love, joy, peace and generosity."

“Which wolf will win, Grandfather?” asked the child.

“The one I feed the most,” answered the Elder.

The best diet: Don't go on a diet!

A couple of days ago, one of my Facebook friends posted a note on my profile page asking what diet I could recommend for losing weight and keeping it off. Here's how I responded:
"Don't go on a diet! Just eat as Nature intended - a balance of fresh, whole, natural, organic, local foods. Focus on a healthy lifestyle rather than the number on the scale or comparing yourself to magazine cover models. I devote an entire chapter to this in Oby's Wisdom. Remember this always: You are Beautiful and Perfect!"

With nutrition as with everything else health related, Nature has the answer. Nature has provided all we need. And when Nature designed our food supply, She didn't include junk like preservatives, food dye, artificial flavorings...

Ponder this: have you ever seen an obese wild animal?

Health is free. Healthcare is expensive.

The basis for vibrant health is the life force…the inherent vitality…the Innate Intelligence of your being. You were born with it and there was no extra charge. You can’t obtain good health or lose it. You can only bury your inborn state of good health, or reveal it.

An unhealthy lifestyle including junk food, sedentary habits, high stress, toxic substances, a negative attitude and neglecting your spirit, will bury your health.

That’s when healthcare becomes necessary. And healthcare only tends to poor health, it doesn’t reveal vibrant health.

The good news is that, no matter how unhealthy you may become, your inherent state of vibrant health is always right inside of you, waiting to be revealed...

...with a healthy lifestyle that includes fresh, whole organic foods; fun physical activity; regular Chiropractic wellness care, plenty of sunshine, fresh air and water; enlivening your spirit, a positive outlook; joy and laughter.

Take an honest look at your lifestyle.

Are you manifesting health…or healthcare?
